Laura Kolb is Associate Professor of English at Baruch College, CUNY, where she has taught since receiving her PhD from the University of Chicago in 2014.

She is the author of Fictions of Credit in the Age of Shakespeare (Oxford 2021) and co-editor of Early Modern Debts 1550-1700 (Palgrave 2020). Her academic articles have appeared in journals including Renaissance Drama, Shakespeare Studies, and SEL. She has written for wider audiences in the pages of the TLS and Electric Literature.

Her current research focuses on women’s tricks in comedy and conduct literature.
